THINK PINK JEREMY SCOTT FOR MOSCHINO FEATURES THE MOST FAMOUS CALIFORNIAN GIRL IN THE WORLD: BARBIE
She’s done with Malibu and now she’s ready to hit the runways of Milan….
Jeremy Scott brings Barbie, the most iconic girl from California, to a new Dream House: The House of Moschino.
“Every girl on the planet has been touched by the magic of Barbie at one time or another in her life,” says Moschino Creative Director Jeremy Scott. “Now is the moment to celebrate this star and her take-charge, confident attitude. Remember ladies: ‘We girls can do anything— Like Barbie!!!!’ ”
Dreaming of Doll Clothes
Barbie has BIG blond hair and Itsy-Bitsy feet. We know her proportions are off-kilter, that’s why the clothes now are too. Buttons are the size of saucers on a mesh trench coat. A belt mushrooms into a strapless top. Sequins and gold metal chains are blown up bigger and brighter than ever.
Barbie Never Misses a Trend
She loves a polk-a-dot.. She worships brightly colored terry cloth trimmed in rickrack. She’ll take another helping of crystal-coated pink crepe, thank you very much.
Multi-tasking Maven
There’s no job Barbie can’t do, no place she can’t go. Going for an interview but just back from the beach? Barbie pulls on a silk cotton jersey dress with a nylon bathing suit appliqued on top. Jumping from the bath to hanging with friends? Barbie slips into a terry cloth bandeau top and pencil skirt. Anything is possible!
When Barbie Does Denim….
She wants it to be a little more glamorous than your average jean. Denim trousers come in a faded blue covered in a slick layer of clear sequins. For jazzier moments, of course, there is gold laminated denim.
Accessories are a BIG part of this girl’s life
Has she ever left the house without a pair of high-heeled mules? We don’t think so. She now also has pumps, plus a whole pink vanity set, including quilted case, comb, mirror and her cell phone case. And don’t forget the Barbie BoomBox bag. Because, remember, Barbie was once a rapper too
The Extravaganza
Our Barbie bathes, goes to the beach, works, exercises, walks her dog, rollerskates and snorkles. But at the end of the day, she just wants to party in something frilly. Whether its silver pants and a bustier or a pink silk jacquard dress with giant mirror sequins, evening comes dripping in iridescent ruffles.

Logomania, smiley faces, pop prints and rugby stripes are all key ingredients to the new Moschino men’s collection designed by Jeremy Scott.
In a visual explosion of bright colors and fun motifs, the upcoming sunny season represents a new take on the maison’s iconographic themes, making way for a stylish yet ultra-versatile wardrobe which ranges from luxury sportswear to twisted takes on the tuxedo.
Giant Moschino symbols featuring house icons of hearts, cowboy hats, and the letter “M” come together to form a maxi monogram appearing in faded denim, technical fabrics and intarsia knitwear. Cut in parkas and jean jackets alike, the print takes logomania to the next level and beyond!
Logomania continues in a new form with an irreverent take on the Moschino logo, “FAUXSCHINO”, embodied all over MA1 bombers, parkas, and the classic tracksuit to a bold effect. Branding and consumerism take form in the inspiration of soda pop graphics, from lemon lime and grape sodas, to the classic cola colour ways urging you to “DRINK MOSCHINO”.
The colours of multinational flags are reinterpreted with the iconic smiley face. All over smiley face polka dots explode into bigger versions to symbolise joy, love and togetherness. This iconic symbol is also embroidered on the back of a yellow tuxedo jacket with tails, to stunning effect.
The collection is a vibrant tribute to modern street and pop culture, but a luxurious feel still remains in the shape of leather bomber jackets with polished metallic locks and zippers, or crocodile versions adorned with gold plaques.
Finally, the collection includes a complete line of men’s accessories, where backpacks, weekend bags and baseball caps are fused with elements from women’s luxury handbags, featuring gold locks and classic accessory hardware, rendering them totems of wealth.
Duffle bags, backpacks and bum bags in waterproof nylon are decorated with this season’s graphics; coordinating with a range of hiking boots and a bright yellow patent leather slip-on loafer emblazoned with the iconic smiley face.

Food, fashion, irony, joy, glamour and couture!
Jeremy Scott designs his first collection for Moschino and declares: THIS IS THE NEW FLAVOUR!
The brand’s creative director brings on stage a playful collection inspired by fast-food, cartoons and the fun characters who enliven packaging of chocolate bars, candies, pop-corn and cereal boxes with a special appearance by SpongeBob.
The iconic ingredients of Moschino are mixed together to create an exciting new recipe, which respects the brand’s heritage yet looks to the future with energy and enthusiasm.
Tailored suits, quilted leather jackets, trench coats and furs are featured in pop colors of red and yellow with unexpected slogans like “DRINK MOSCHINO”, “FUR REAL” and “CASH COW”.
Make room for Moschino’s logomania, where the “belt goes wild”. He celebrates and transforms the famous lettering into a sexy decoration on jackets, bustiers, boots and accessories.
The evening is Pop-Couture! Snack packaging inspired ball gowns in organza and silk duchesse, embellished with made to measure prints with a nod to nutritional facts, prices and bar codes featured on snack packages.
With this group Jeremy Scott creates a series of new comic characters: Mr. Funtastik, Cheesy Bits, Froggy Loops, Dandy Candy who adorn these package inspired evening gowns.

CELEBRATING MOSCHINO’S 30TH ANNIVERSARY
To celebrate the fashion house’s 30th anniversary, Creative Director Rossella Jardini wished to pay tribute to the memory of founder Franco Moschino by re-interpreting all the iconic themes that have inspired his aesthetic vision. She presents an exclusive mise en scène that plays on the double spirit of the contemporary woman, the good and evil.
Opening the show are the designer’s 4 favorite models: Pat Cleveland (strapless dress with Italian flag and cow, fall winter 85/86), Violeta Sanchez (coat with teddy bears, fall/winter 88/89), Amalia (Italian flag dress, fall/winter 88/89) and Giselle Zelauy (garbage dress, spring/summer 94) , who wear symbolic garments from the Maison’s archives. Then they leave the scene to the spring/summer 2014 collection with a series of female characters that describe the same woman in her “good” & “bad” versions.
The nun, the maid, the playmate, the biker and many other varied personalities reveal a creative duality that alternates street-glam style with a bon chic, bon genre spirit, through a collection that is elegantly easy, accessible and, at the same time, highly refined, and speaks to all women.
Between the memory of Franco Moschino and the look towards the present and future of the Maison, Rossella Jardini offers must-have pieces like the leather jacket with a heart or dotted with shiny studs, the iridescent bouclé jacket with large metallic zippers and chain bracelets on the cuffs, pearl embroidery on lightweight, see-through dresses, refining the most delicate looks with patterns of colored roses printed or embroidered on fabrics in white, black and red. Hearts, pearls and chains. Raised lettering with the logo letters in shiny metal and gold, on both the clothes and the accessories.
A rhythm that brings together different shapes and distinctive details, from “cropped” silhouettes and long petalled cuts, from striped patterns and Vichy designs, from flirty culottes and sophisticated organza dresses, completely hand-embroidered and trimmed with ruffles and large flounces.
And for the grand finale, highlighted by the live voice of Gloria Gaynor singing I AM WHAT I AM, the historical models return to the scene to introduce a series of 11 more vintage looks:
Pat wearing a red dress with black polka dots, spring/summer 84
Violeta wearing an upside down strapless jacket dress, spring/summer 88
Amalia wearing the Holy Chic dress, fall/winter 93/94
Gisele wearing the Gazzetta Dello Sport dress, spring/summer 93
Alek Wek wearing the “question mark” dress, spring/summer 98
Alana wearing the “De Gvstibvs Non Est Dispvtandvm” t-shirt and a skirt with hearts, spring/summer 94
Erin O’ Connor wearing the dinner jacket and the Kaos skirt, spring/summer 94
Jodie Kidd wearing the” gorilla” dress, fall/winter 94/95
Diana D. wearing the chain jacket and the “NIENTE” t-shirt, fall/winter 88/89
Natasha wearing the shopping bag dress, fall winter 87/88
Catherine McNeil wearing bathing suits bearing the written motto LA CLASSE NON È ACQUA, spring/summer 87
Meanwhile, a tableau vivant takes shape in the background.
Like the footnote of a timeless tale that celebrates this important anniversary, weaving a precious thread between the story of yesterday and the passionate present that is MOSCHINO.

M-SHIRE
TALES OF THE MOSCHINOSHIRE
Images that bring the story to life; a mood board in emotional sequence; snapshots of details and stolen moments from which emerges the elegance of Ann Bofoey Taylor, a horseback riding and skiing enthusiast – these are the starting points for the Moschino Fall/Winter 2013-14.
Added to this is the desire for reinterpretation, expressing the most classic, essentially Moschino pieces of clothing with the same declaration of heartfelt love for the British world.
The search begins, from tartan and its colors, for fabrics with the same visual impact and identity. This is a conscious choice, a Scottish-mania expressed in the fabrics, in the gold-embroidered badges, in the Scotland Yard caps, in the red roses and in the embossed Ms that brighten the most colorful tartans.
Men’s-style suits revisited, but always very precise and worn with classic-cut white shirts, uniforms that somewhat recall Japanese schoolgirls and a nod to the style of the countryside with pieces from the equestrian world. The final part of the show “falls back in line” with the absolutely irreplaceable black and white outfits.
Changes and play with fabric, made-up stories and revisited ones, with the only certainty whispered, smiling: “plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose” [“The more things changes, the more they remain the same”]
