BURBERRY PRORSUM SPRING SUMMER 2016 MEN’S COLLECTION – LONDON FASHION WEEK
The latest collection introduced authentic sartorial menswear mixed with unconventional elements and celebrated Burberry’s made-in-the-UK icons including heritage trench coats, made in Castleford, and cashmere scarves, made in Scotland. Models included: Oli Green, Sebastian Brice, Ranald McDonald, Oscar Roberston and Jackson Hale.
Burberry also introduced The Chelsea today – a new tailored slim fit design and a new fourth fit for Burberry menswear. The Chelsea silhouette was presented on a new Made In England trench coat and across a range of tailoring including suits, shirts and ties.
A selection of women’s Spring/Summer 2016 Pre-Collection looks were also shown today on British models including Ella Richards and Malaika Firth, marking the first time Burberry has included womenswear as part of it’s menswear show.
Cloths: English wool/mohair tailoring cloth, wool/silk tailoring cloth, fine cotton tailoring cloth, cotton lace, Burberry gabardine, double-faced cashmere, knitted cashmere.
Colours: black, navy, charcoal, pale grey, brown, stone and white with accents of turquoise, red and mustard.
Silhouettes: Introducing The Chelsea, a tailored slim fit design in trench coats and suiting, lace shirts, double-faced cashmere topcoats, cashmere knitted joggers, lightweight down jackets, light wool/silk trench coats.
Accessories: The Burberry Barrow bag with painted stripe, super-lightweight Scottish cashmere scarves, hand-painted Derby shoes, tassel loafers, handmade English ties, bug tie pins, square tortoiseshell sunglasses.
Womenswear Spring/Summer 2016 Pre-Collection: highlights from the collection showed today included dresses in hand-applied floral macramé and Swiss and English-woven patchwork lace as well as The Bucket Backpack.
