In the Spring/Summer 2016 Collection, the encounter/clash of opposites, a quintessential trait of the FENDI lexicon is pushed to quiet extremes, between irony and sophistication, classic and experimental, drawing an image of controlled yet palpable sensuality. The constant tension between the organic and synthetic, natural and technical, celebrates the wabi-sabi beauty of perfect imperfection.
The silhouette is soft and de-structured. Polo-shirts, t-shirts and trousers are the staples of a modular wardrobe made of iconic items rethought in textures and volumes. Tailored jackets have a cropped, narrow line in contrast with the slouchy ease of the trousers. The quest for decoration – orientalist motifs, flowery swarms – is hidden under layers of dye which create visual amalgamation, the result being barely perceptible. In the typical FENDI way, craft is pushed to the limits: rubberized shading python, as the denim and over-dyed lurex. Shirts and jumpsuits are made of a leather that has a striking liquidity.
The appeal of the inorganic translates into textures: pixilated granite motifs and ceramic effects are amplified by the clean, precise shapes. Metal is a sign of punctuation in the button covers and Selleria stitches, giving to the Collection a somewhat robotic touch. Easy volumes and functional details suggest metropolitan adaptability.
The overall look is clear and unfussy: a urban uniform for the soulful city dweller.
Tones of blue, grey, black, mud and brick are mixed in the somber yet sensual color palette. Fabrics are comfortable and firm: spongy jersey, denim, silk, cotton.
Shoppers and intarsia backpacks, where the renowned Bag Bugs eyes of the Maison appear in an evil yet ironic version, Selleria bags with metal stitches characterize the accessories of the next Spring/Summer season, together with python visors and sturdy canvas or suede work shoes with thick rubber soles.

#PLEINPUNK
The new Philipp Plein men’s collection for Spring Summer 2016 is inspired by the ” hip-rock” style. A combination of hip hop, heavy-metal, rock and rap. But most of all, a reinterpretation of the world of punk.
Dramatic opposites are combined in the same look to create a striking and ultra-modern outcome. Oversized t-shirts and extra skinny pants. Zippers and padded shoulders worn over classic knitwear. Details of the world of bikers with a quilted effects.
White, black and red are the main colors. Strong, divergent and primary, they dialogue as the slang of a rap song. Prints and embroideries bring heavy-metal band‘s ultra colorful and sharp writings from the 1990’s back into fashion: Gun’s and Roses, Metallica, Iron Maiden. The hard and romantic aesthetic of their concert T-shirts relives according to the style of PHILIPP PLEIN. The same happens with PP78, the House’s logo with all the designer’s favorite hashtags and the ones created for the collection.
Studs and patchwork technique decorate every surface; rather than just details, they become true protagonists of the #PleinPunk male image. Hand-finished leather jackets carve out an extremely important space. With writings, designs or handmade airbrushing, they are customized as if they were created for a rock star.
Formal menswear is completely redesigned as a remix of the tradition of tailoring. Cotton suits are deconstructed offering a new skinny fit with slim black, studded or graffiti printed ties. The shoes are extra-luxury sneakers made with fine leathers and embellished with studs and customizations that make them as precious as unique pieces.

FUSION
An encounter between different worlds. A blend of cultures. The East steps quietly into the West, transformed and transforming, with no hint of exoticism or ethnic nostalgia. The strongest concept in this ultimately urban collection is contamination, which manifests itself as an Eastern feel mixed with Western tastes.
Fusion means colours. Basic blue, grey, green and mud are tinged with teal; this is a palette characterised by a special shade of blue/green: myrtle green. Colours are natural and subtle, with shades of taupe, greige and sand, but no plain white.
Fusion means paisley; traditionally used in winter, for spring/summer it has been stylised to stand as a pure symbol on light warm-weather garments. Paisley is applied using four different techniques: digital printing for shirts and blouses, jacquards for ruffled jersey jackets, embroidery over a Prince-of-Wales type of fabric, and laser-engraving on outerwear, with small lasered patterns looking like all-over tattoos.
Fusion means trousers with one side dart, narrow at the ankle; jackets with small, pagoda shoulders and puckered sleeve heads, sometimes with lapels and slightly raised buttons that look as if they were drawn on. Washed silk V-neck T-shirts alternate with shirts featuring small mandarin or notched collars.
Fusion means fine materials, and no technical fabrics: wool, cupro, washed silk and cotton express a winning all-season approach to meet the needs of Emporio Armani fans around the world. Extremely light ‘featherweight’ nappa leather bonded with a georgette lining has a crisp feel to it.
Laser-engraved, 3D-effect leather is used on both outerwear and accessories. Ever-present backpacks are embroidered to create three-dimensional effects. Various types of shoes – including sneakers, sabots, and slip-ons – recall the shape of sandals. New, surprising oxfords come with a closed front and open back, with the foot held in place by a strap around the back of the ankle.
